Import MS Project timeline (Grantt Chart) to Excel

Anyone has a idea how to import just the timeline (Grantt Chart) from MS Project 2003 to Excel.

    I would appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Import MS Project timeline (Grantt Chart) to Excel

    Welcome to the Forum!

First I must gently correct the term, it's a Gantt chart.

I have an Excel application that extracts project data from an MS Project file. However, I'm a bit confused by your question.

A Project is a collection of tasks, each of which has a bunch of data like name, start, finish, duration, etc. A Gantt chart is just one way to view the data. You don't export a Gantt chart from Project, you export task data. Actually, Project has a built-in feature that will export data to Excel. (The reason I wrote my own application is that the results don't show the hierarchical structure of the tasks. My version creates an Excel file with outlining and indentation so it looks more like Project.)

What is it that you want your result to look like?
