How to Create an Excel Chart With Overlapping Bars

I am using Excel 2003. I've used Excel for years, but am pretty green to charts. I am sure there's an easy way to do this but my searches are coming up blank. I am trying to create a bar chart that is in between a stacked and clustered chart. If I could create a clustered chart and then overlay the two bars, that is what I need. So given data below:

    State Visits Orders
    NY 100 20
    NJ 85 15
    CA 120 25

I want single bars for each state that show visits and orders, but the bar can only be as long as the visit value, so the values wouldn't be stacked per say. I thought about creating a 3rd column of visits-orders and using that value instead of visits, but then it will show the wrong value, though the stack is the right length. It's hard to explain, am I making any sense?!
    Thanks!

    Re: Struggling With Charts

Not sure what you are trying to do. Thought this might be it.

If not, then post back with an example of what you would like it to look like.

    Cool video, Alan!
The bullet chart video contained the answer......I needed to use a secondary axis and change the gap width of my bars.
    Thanks!

Maybe you just need to make a clustered column chart and play with the overlap property of the series.
