    Audit 2 lists

Here's an odd one for you - I am trying to reconcline between a visa statement and a sales list for the $ of a sale.

I have 2 columns, 1 from the POS and the other from Visa with the sale amount. I tried using conditional formatting but if course that does not count unique values.

    So if, for example:

    list 1
    200
    200
    250
    50
    125

    List 2
    200
    250
    50
    125
    100

I'd like on list 1 one of the 200's flagged (since it's only in list 2 once) and on list 2 the 100 flagged since it does not appear on list 1.

    Suggestions?

    Re: Audit 2 lists

    Hi Gordon,

I've done too much of this and here is my method. I view the two lists, side by side using a split window or multiple windows of files into different worksheets. Then I sort both by Date (if you have that option) or value (Price on the charge/visa). Then I run down looking for differences.

If there are too many there are other methods. Sometimes I create a column of differences between the two columns and get a bunch of zero's if they match. Another method is to create a running total in blank columns in both sheets and find where they stop agreeing.

    hope this helps.
