    Updating Used Range without VBA

After clearing out cells at the bottom of a spreadsheet, in Excel 2000, I used to be able to Select those rows to the end of the sheet and Delete Rows to reset my range to the current used area. Seems with Excel 2007, this doesn't work any more. If I hit CNTRL SHFT END, I go down to row 30 no matter how many times I delete those rows.

I know there are macros that can reset but is there any other ways to reset the range?

My experience with 2003 and 2007 is that after you delete those rows, you have to save and close the workbook, then reopen it before the range is updated.

Duh, boy do I feel stupid. I've always used VBA but was working up some material for a training class for people without VBA and couldn't figure it out.

    Thanks guys!
