List box - without macros or VBA?

I have been using someone else's spreadsheet and I find that it has a large number of mini list boxes - click on the arrow, get three choices, etc. There does not seem to be any associated VBA code or macros. How is this done?

The answer is probably there in Help, but I cannot find it.

    Direction would be gratefully received!

Hard to tell without see actual file but it could be,

data validation or simply that the InputRange property of the listbox is set to a range of cells

Thumbs up Re: List box - without macros or VBA?

Thank you Andy. Problem solved - Data Validation is how it was done. I haven't used it before, so it threw me somewhat.
