    Gradient fill across multiple cells

I would like to create a background gradient shading that fades across multiple cells.

I'm able to shade withing one individual cell, but I'm wondering if there's a way to fade across several.

    Thanks!

Can't be done, as far as I know.

You could overlay the cells with a shape that has a gradient fill and make the shape semi-transparent. But then you cannot click to select the cells, because the shape will be in the foreground.

Here is how i did it.
you have to do it gradually first select the primary color and next the one paler. on the next cell choose the previous pale color as your primary and then the next paler. Do that so on till you get to the white filling. There you have it.
