    Exclamation If Formula and Conditional Formating

    1. I dont know much about excel...but this should be an "IF" formula I believe.

    I want to create 3 columns

    Lets Say

    A1 = Subcontractor B1 = $1000 C1 = If formula( if A1 = subcontractor, then multiple B1 by 2.42%)

    can we combine the formula with Staff as well? If A1 = Staff, then multiple B1 by 3.42%.

    2. I want to do some kind of automatic check on a column, for example

    if A1 = 80% if its 80% or HIGHER, then the cell will glow bright Red.

    thanks,

    Re: Need help with two Simple formula

    For the first part, in c1:

    For the second part, use Conditional Formatting. In Format, choose Conditional Formatting. In the first dropdown, select Use Formula and specify it to be =A1>=.8, then specify your formatting (in Patterns) to have bright red fill (I like to also format the font to bold and white to contrast well.
