I am creating a sheet that has a phone list for 2 buildings.
1st column is Name, 2nd column is builing #
I want to know if I can have the name font color determined by the building #?

Hi,
Yes. Check out the conditional formats and use the 'Formula Is' option. So in your column A cells you'll set the formula in the conditional format area to be
and then set the format colour as necessary. Please Login or Register to view this content.

Yes, with conditional formatting. Highlight the range you want, go to conditional formatting and input this as a formula: =$B2=1 for the first building, where B2 is the top cell in the building column not including the header. For the second, you can have =$B1=2 or make the default format the color you want for the second building.

The only way I know of is to use conditional formatting (Format>Conditional Formatting). But it's limited to your basic logic functions. Hopefully your conditions are easily found within certain ranges. And you can also add up to 3 conditions. When you get there, it should be self-explanatory. If you have any further questions feel free to ask.
Err, yea what they said.
