In the attached workbook, the Sheet 1 and Sheet 5 tabs show on the left, while on Sheets 2 and 3 they show on the right.
What is happening here? Shortcut Key? How does this happen?

Hi
Under the advanced options, for the two central sheets, the display option for the sheet "Show sheet right-to-left" has been ticked.
thats why its not in my excel 97 then lol
Hey Colin,
You are absolutely correct!! I never knew!!
My thinking was the Excel Options were for the whole workbook. Now I see changes can be made to individual worksheets too.
I have to create another box in my mind dealing with worksheet tabs.
For the add-on question,
I've been telling people that the Worksheet(1).Name will be the worksheet that is the first one on the left. This is wrong if they set Tabs to the Right. PLEASE tell me that tabs Right To Left isn't the default for Arabic Language!!
I just tested it and if you set the Tabs to the right, Worksheets(1) will be on the right not the left. I guess I need to be more specific when telling Worksheet(1) is on the left.

Yep, Worksheets(1).Name returns the name first worksheet in the Worksheets collection (the collection is 1-based). That worksheet might even be hidden, in which case it won't be the first sheet on the right or on the left!
Hey Colin,
I totally get what you are saying but computers just don't get it. They are so literal. When you said:
that may have been a little wrong. That worksheet might even be hidden, in which case it won't be the first sheet on the right or on the left!
It will still be indexed as number 1 and we can get to it by WorkSheets(1).Name but it won't be visible.
I guess this is the problem with Object Oriented Programming Languages. Visible is different than Exists or Indexed.
Programming also becomes a problem as Worksheet(1).Select comes back an error if it is hidden, but works fine if you don't try to to select it.
Not only do we need to know the names of all these objects in Excel we also need to know if they are visible or not to see if our code will work. I've got the same problem with PivotTable filters, in you can't hide all of them or the code complains and gives back an error. I guess we are used to this, like #Div/0! errors.
Thanks again for the Right to Left Sheet info.
Hi,
That was exactly my point?!that may have been a little wrong. It will still be indexed as number 1 and we can get to it by WorkSheets(1).Name but it won't be visible.
