Question Charting distribution of ages and hometowns

    Hello,
I'm hoping this is a relatively simple issue, and I just haven't been able to figure out the right description to find any useful solutions online.
I have a spreadsheet of responses to a short survey, which includes data like the age of the respondent and their hometown. I'd like to create a pie chart that shows the distribution of ages and hometowns, among other data (there are only about 8 unique values; it's a small survey sample).
However, I can't figure out where to begin. Do I have to manually create countif functions for each unique value, as I did for gender and answers to a 'yes/no' question, or is there a more automated process for charting these values?
    Thanks,
    Doc

I'm including the raw data for the ages of respondents. I'd like to make a line or bar chart that shows the distribution of responses by age, so for example the bar for people who are '23' would be much higher than for '30'. Does anyone know how I can do this?

    Use the FREQUENCY function.

Please Login or Register to view this content.
The bins are in C2:C10. Then select D2:D11 and paste this in the formula bar:

    =FREQUENCY(A2:A27, C2:C10)

Don't press Enter. Instead, press and hold the Ctrl and Shift keys, then press Enter.

Thanks! I got that working. I also just discovered the Analysis Toolpack add-in, which is super-helpful (wish it had been enabled by default!).
