    Dragging Cells

Is there a way in excel to change the way excel drags cell contents?

So for instance I have listed 1-10 listed from top to bottom. I want to have a separate cell
referencing this 1-10 but I want to drag cell going horizontally 1-10. Is the only way to do this by a vlookup or index + match formula?

    Re: Dragging Cells

    so cell A1 =1, A2=2, A3=3, and so on

but I want to get A1=1, B1=2, C3=3 and so on
I was hoping there was an alternate way other than using formulas.

maybe you had a typo in your example in post#2, but look at the attached and see if this is what you are trying to say.

Similar to that, but I was referencing a cell that, and wanted to see if you could drag a cell horizontally as well.
