    Find and Replace

I have an excel worksheet with quite a few entries that have dates with the wrong year. How can I replace just the year? I tried using the find and replace but it then just replaces the whole cell with just the year. So if I had 1/1/2011 it would change it to just 2010.

EDIT: Never mind, I got it.

    Re: Find and Replace

Since Excel see's 1/1/2011 as 40544, then when you do a find and replace you are not actually changing the year. The date is just a format for the 40544.

I think you may have to use a formula with 1/1/2011 in A1

    =DATE(2010,MONTH(A1),DAY((A1)))

or if you were just changing a dates by one year then you could use.

    =DATE(YEAR(A1)-1,MONTH(A1),DAY((A1)))
