Column size, Freezing, Formatting ( 3 questions)

I have a sheet that I send to my managers and my business accountant. This sheet contains detail as well as summary (rolling totals) information. I combined all info into a single sheet so that they could see all the information without having to view multiple sheets. I send this to them daily thus the 'rolling totals'.

#1. Can I have a column be multi width? Example... cell E1:200 thru J1:200 will contain quantity (small numbers - narrow columns) while E220:226 would be a summary total (larger number - wider column). This need is for looks and not function.

#2. Can I freeze multiple columns? (not just row1 or column1)

#3. When formatting date cells, can I have only the day of week appear? Example ... instead of showing 'Friday, April 15th 2011'. I'd like to just show 'Friday'

This is an incredible site. From those of us who are self taught and learn as we go, I want to give a big thanks and a "keep it up" to everyone here who takes the time to answer what many times may appear to by simple and rookie type questions.

    1) select the column that you want to resize and you can drag the right edge of the column header label to the width you want...or you can go Format and format the column width to a specific size.(same thing with rows)

    2) not sure about multiple columns in XL 2007

    3) Format cell using a custom format of dddd

whoops, sorry, I mis-read the question #1 (missed the part about E220:up being a different width than E220:down)
