Using conditional formatting to highlight entire row based on date in one cell

    Hello all,

The subject line pretty much describes what I want to do. Ive read a ton online and for whatever reason I cant seem to get it to work. No problems getting it to highlight a single cell but I would like to get the entire row. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. Attached is what I have so far.

For clarification for those who cant download the example right now, the cell with the date currently is set to color itself red if the date is within 30 days from now, and yellow if its between 30 and 60. I would like the entire row to highlight instead of just that cell.

Sorry, yes I am using 2007. However I share this worksheet with someone who only has 2003 right now so I have to be careful about compatibility. Thanks for the welcome!

The attached is an example for 2003

To obtain it, 1st highlight the entire row or part of the row you want to format, than enter the formula. The important thing here is the use of absolute reference for col C ( $C3), so that the condition does not change when applied to sells on the same row

Than paint the format on your table

    Arthur,

thanks so much for your help. Im not sure why I was having trouble making it work (and yes I do understand relative vs. absolute cell references ). I was curious though if the way I was highlighting the single cell in my original example was the most optimal or if you wouldve done it a different way.

    Thanks again, much appreciated.
