Excel 2007 : Delete Part of Cell

    Delete Part of Cell

    I have a long list of numbers in one cell looks like (Below). I just realized I do not need the .JPG is there a way to delete the .JPG without going through each one, one at a time.

    A
    2000.JPG
    2101.JPG
    2102.JPG
    2103.JPG
    2104.JPG
    2105.JPG
    2105.JPG
    and so on

    Try this

    =LEFT(A1,LEN(A1)-4)

    Or

    select the range holding the data in question.
    Hit Ctrl+H
    In the Find area type .JPG
    Leave the Replace area blank
    Hit Replace All

    Also possible via text to columns with dot as delimiter and not importing last column

    ( I guess there are many other ways)
