Drop-Down List - Modification to Scroll Bar

    Hi All,

I have created a simple Data Validation Drop Down List - see attached.

When you select the list in B3, the drop down list appears as it should.

Is there a way of taking away the scroll-down bar to let all of the selection appear in one click or to modify the scroll bar to allow either more or less data to appear as per personal requirements.

Looking forward to hearing your reply.

    Regards

    Ray.

    Hi Ray,

This answer come under the category "be careful what you ask for". I've added a userform and a listbox on the userform that appears when you click on you input cell. There is so much more overhead than using a simple Validation Box you may want to consider going back to Validation Combos.

But, if this is what you are looking for, here it is.

    Thanks MarvinP,

That is good, but I was hoping to have the modification to the cell box drop down list only.

    Can this be done?

I am more than open to any other suggestions.

    Regards

    Ray

Re: Drop-Down List - Modification to Scroll Bar

The problem is that the Validation List only has 8 rows that show. If you want more you need to create a userform and put a combo or list box on it and the overhead grows and grows.

Actually you can put a combo box on a sheet (at least using 2010 Excel) and tie that dropdown to a cell and specify how many rows show. I'm not sure if you can do this in 2003. This still is not a Validation List Box but kind of works like it.

See if the attached is what you are looking for.
