Morning all,

I've got a problem with a spreadsheet containing a load of graphs. It was always fine in Excel 2003 but gave me some problems when I moved to 2007. I only used 2007 sporadically for this spreadsheet so it never really bothered me but now I've got rid of the old computer I'm plagued by the setup problems in 2007. I hope someone out there can help.

The spreadsheet contains a load of running data for a piece of machinery. The data is input through MS Access and sent across to Excel where a macro is run to import the newest data and clear out the oldest data, it displays the last 256 data entries.

This data is then put into graphs for long term trending of the data.

At the end of the spreadsheet is a customer report page which contains running data for the previous month. Every month I go in and change the dates on the X-Axis to cover the desired reporting period.

Here's an example of a monthly report graph which has a single Y-Axis. Everything is fine with this as it displays the correct data.

All of my problems stem from graphs with a primary and secondary Y-Axis.

Here you can see the date range I've set for this graph (5/4/2010 - 4/5/2010). The data displayed on the graph goes beyond 4/5/2010 to the 26/5/2010 and my desired date range is bunched up down one end of the graph.

I'm not sure why I tried it but in desperation I added the "show secondary axis" option to see what it would do.

Everything that is on the primary Y-Axis is now displaying the correct date range of values and the date range is displayed across the full width of the primary X-Axis. For some reason the Power Output - MW data has been assigned to the Secondary X-Axis (presumably because it is on the secondary Y-Axis) and I can't get it to follow the primary X-Axis.

Looking at the data range I can see that the Power Output - MW has a different set of X-Axis labels to the other data.

If I make the date range for the secondary X-Axis the same as the primary X-Axis then all data ranges are displayed correctly.

Whilst I've now got the data showing across the correct date range I don't like the secondary X-Axis, I shouldn't need it because it's the same date range as the primary X-Axis and I never used to have it when using Excel2003.

Can anyone give me any pointers to get the graphs showing data like they use to before I pull out what little hair I have left?
