is excel what im searching for?

hello im a newbe to excel, been messing with the last couple of days.
what im searching for is a simple method to track my bank account balance and knowing where do i stand in terms of income and expenses and seeing a graph that will represent current date, couple of month's back, couple of month's forward.
i'v been looking for a template that do so, but everything iv found was so complicated, touching subject in economy i have no knowledge of.

additionally i'd want to also use it to plan models, and take in concideration i have no special knowledge in economy, but since i have a small buisness, and i can't find my legs and feet.. im searching for something to help me.

-can excel automatically move stuff visually so todays date and the dates that souround it will be visible?
i only came close to with using the several "=date" functions, but it seems to me it is static, based on other cells perhaps.. but not 'reading the clock all the time'.
in short i searching for a simple dinamic prog to show me where i stand visually and number wise.
any pointers to the right direction will be appreaciated.
    thanks.
