Moving averages by date, not data points

I work inconsistent days and hours. I would like to use a moving average to calculate my average hours worked over the past 7 days, but not over the past 7 data points.

I know I could just put 0's next to every date that I don't work, but I'm somewhat obsessive about excel, and I know there must be a way to avoid this extra step that would take 2 seconds out of every day. Those seconds add up!

    For example:

    Date Hours

    4/14 7
    4/16 8
    4/18 2
    4/20 5
    4/21 6
    4/23 3
    4/26 2
    4/27 8
    4/28 11

I greatly appreciate any help that is offered!
