Post Running clock, but can't use macros

I want to create a sheet that contains a running clock (it can count in either direction) with options to Start, Stop, and Reset. I've seen plenty of solutions using VBA, but I'm running Office 2008 on a Mac, so macros are out. ANY ideas at all on how to pull this off?
