    WIndows 7 slower

Is using excel 2010 on windows 7 slower than using excel 2007 on XP?
I have a low spec laptop at work which seems to run faster than everyone elses high spec laptops with the newer software

    Re: WIndows 7 slower

    Hi nickFe,

Performance is always a tough topic. Speed of CPU, hard drive speed and memory all influence "speed".

In general, I'd say each newer version gets better. Think of it this way, would you buy a slower version just because it was newer? Each new release should make improvements or the product wouldn't sell. Do you think Micorsoft would put out a product that was worse than the last? Performance is only one of the many criteria used but I'd expect speed to improve with each new release.

Read http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff700515.aspx for more on the topic.
One test is worth a thousand opinions.
