    Unhappy Computing the Hours Worked

    Good Day!

I have attached a file. In our office we have an 8hr workday that's 8am-5pm. However, we have this what we call as flexitime wherein we can come to work late for up to 30mins that's up to 8:30 provided that we will go out 30mins late as wee that's up to 5:30.. We also have a 1hr (12nn-1pm) lunch break from which we can time in/out between 12NN-1PM.

My problem is: how to compute for the total number of work hours and minutes (this is in case the employee goes undertime or beyond flexitime)?

    thanks!

    Re: Computing the Hours Worked

You could use this for the minutes:
    =TEXT((B6-A6)+(D6-C6),"mm:ss")

And this can give you the hours:
    =TEXT((B6-A6)+(D6-C6),"h")

Drag down as required. If you get a #Value! error it's because you are dealing with incorrect times. For instance, B10 contain 12:00PM, you need to put a space between the time and the "PM". D9 and D10 contain AM, that should be PM otherwise you'll get errors.

it seems like it was not the output that I am looking for, in the new file I have included the desired output and explained why it should be the output. thanks for your patience.
