External References Fail to Update in Excel 2010

Thanks in advance for any help.

I just loaded Office 2010 and am working with Excel. In one of my Sheets i reference data from another sheet in the same Workbook.

When I make changes in the REFERENCED sheet, the external reference does not update.

I looked at the "Excel Help" which did not help.

Any clues?

Also, If I change the referenced cells, why doesn't the associated chart update?

Hi dmking99 and welcome to the forum,

On the Formula Tab look at your calculation options. Make sure it is set to automatic instead of manual.

I guess we need a sample file to understand the quesion a little better. To attach a sample, click on "Go Advanced" below the message area and then on the Paper Clip Icon above the advanced message area. This will open a dialog to allow you to attach a sample file.

Thanks Marvin,

I'll do this after the holiday... This is more of a nusance than anything else. The capability I'm seeking help on worked fine in Excel 2003... The work around is to cut and repaste the link to get the links to update, but the chart still doesn't update so I have to recreate a new chart.
