Calculation Problems

I am having problems trying to solve what I thought maybe easy doing in excel than a calculator.

I work in a builders merchants and have to add the timber in cubic meters but alot of the lengths are different sizes i.e.

50mm by 100mm

Lengths very from 1.8, 2.1, 2.4, 2.7, etc

can anyone help
