Excel 2007 : Quarters and months

    Quarters and months

    Hi
    Gurus

    How do i get to choose the months in a quarter based on the selection.

    I have created a dropdown where i can choose the year and month ex.
    if 2010.april now based onthis i need to select april month data from the Quarter1
    if 2010.May is selected then i need to select april and may months data from Quarter 1
    if 2010.june is selected then i need to select april , may and june i.e all the months data in the Quarter 1

    how do i get to do this

    Where is the monthly data stored
    ...same worksheet?
    ...same workbook, different sheet?
    ...another workbook?

    What do you want to do with the matching information?
    ...sum it?
    ...display each item?
    ...something else?

    Hi
    I am working on SAP BPC
    and have to retrieve data based on the selections in the EXCEL

    therefore based onthe retrieved information from the formula of excel i must be able to dislay the data for those months as described in my post.

    Q1 April May June
    Q2 july august september
    Q3 oct nov dec
    Q4 jan feb mar


    and the drop down says

    select year and month : 2010.june

    then i need to display april may and june
    if april then my formula of excel needs to fetch only april and so on..

    my question is how to write a formula based on this selection
    the retrieving from data base i will take care

    I could get this resolved by using INDEX and MATCH combination
    once explained as a solution for one of my problems by NBVC
