Automatically change Data in one cell if it matches another cell on a seperate sheet

I’m trying to find a formula that will automatically change Data in cell B1 on the “main sheet” tab if a name in cell A1 matches a cell in Row A on “changing sheet” tab. If the name matches on ROW A, then the data in Row C on “changing sheet” would need to be input to the “B” cell on the “main sheet”

    How do I do this?

I've attached a spreadsheet as an example.

search for the name and then input the new data for the name into the proper cells

The Changing sheet will be a copy and paste of another spreadsheet that changes often. I want the main sheet to be able to search for the name and then input the correct selection into the proper slot on the main sheet.

In this example, Fred,Tony,Sally,Yogi are the only people I care about. So when i paste the new information to the Changing sheet, its needs to search for their name and then fill in the data.

So Fred should show on the Main Sheet in cell B-1 Bears and cell C2 should be blue

But say tomorrow Fred's name shows on the 4th line of the changing sheet and his new section is hunting and new color is green, then it should search for it and the main sheet should show cell B1 Hunting, cell C2 green

Pretty much i need something that will search for the name and then input the new data for the name into the proper cells.

    Thanks for all your help.

Re: Automatically change Data in one cell if it matches another cell on a seperate sh

Are the names anywhere on the sheet randomly or are they randomly anywhere in a single column?

If in a single column then it makes life a little easier becasue then you can use VLOOKUP

but if not then most likely will need to used Index and Match, but before that I noticed that the column headers are different between the main sheet nad the changing sheet. Is this correct. Will they have differing names or was this just a misrepresentation in the uploaded example?
