    Exclamation Conditional formatting

I'm attempting to do some sort of conditional formatting, but I'm not sure how to attempt this. I have a column that needs to be conditionally formatted based on the values of another column.
In the first column (I'll call it column A) I have some values ranging from 0 to 2, in the second column (the one I need the formatting in, I'll call it column B) I have some times (in hours). The problem is that I have two complicated rules to follow:
    1) if the value in cell n of column A is between 0.4-0.6, and the time in cell n of column B is less than or equal to 24:00, then I want cell n in column B to be colored green
    2) if the value in cell n of column A is not between 0.4-0.6, and the time in cell n of column B is less than or equal to 8:00, then I want cell n in column B to be colored green also

I'm having problems because of referencing to the same cell (in column B), and the cell next to it (in column A), and due to the complexity of this conditional formatting rule.

Is there a solution to my dilemma?
    I'm using Excel 2007.

    Re: Complicated conditional formatting problem

Does this conditional formula work for you?

Assumes you selected column B starting from B1 to highlight.

Adjust A1 and B1 to top-most row references in your selection.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

    Re: Conditional formatting

Thanks! This worked great, and taught me several different things about conditional formatting, and times in excel! Thanks!
