    If/Sumproduct Combo

    Budget season!!

Im working on our budget and Im trying to get a formula to work and its giving me fits. What im trying to do is decrease membership by 10% if "yes" is typed in a cell for that month. My formula starts in D9. I know im going about this the wrong way but Im running out of steam here.

Can someone give me a better idea on how to do this. See my sample attached.

    Thanks!

I am not sure I follow your logic...

This in D9, decreases the sum of D4:D8 by 10% if D11 = "Yes", otherwise it just sums as is... not sure what other logic you are looking for..

I'm not clear what results you want, what should the result be for D9 and E9 for example?

Where does E79:E83 come in, those cells seem to be empty?

Sorry about that. I updated the spreadsheet with expected results. If there is a "yes" then I want to decrease by 10% otherwise just sum the column.

E79:E83 was in the original spreadsheet before I trimmed it down.

    Re: If/Sumproduct Combo

    Try:

    =SUM(D4:D8)*IF(D11="Yes",(1-$B$11),1) copied across.

Note: Some of your "Yes's" in row 11 have a trailing space... need to clean.

Thanks! Thats definitely alot cleaner than what I was trying to do. Sometimes I try to make things a little more complicated then it really is.
