Line & bar Combo graph - data point alignment

    Good afternoon,

I have three data categories, each data for two separate years which show hours allocated to certain things:

    hours on sick (2009)
    hours on sick (2010)
    Hours on hols (2009)
    Hours on hols (2010)
    Hours on training (2009)
    Hours on training (2010)

and this is broken down month by month for 12 months

I want 2009 to display as a bar graph and 2010 to display as a line/scatter graph

My data is set out like this:
on my heading row (row 10) i have column C which is "apr", column d is "may" etc until column N which is "Mar"
row 10 is "sick 09" whic has data (an integer) for each month, row 11 is "sick 10", row 12 is "hols 09" etc.

I have created a bar / line graph by plotting a bar graph and then right clicking on the 2010 bars and using the chart type option and I get a graph which is almost what I am looking for.

The issue is, all the points on the line graph snap to centre of the middle bar but I need each data point to align with its associated bar, eg the "hols 10" point to align with the centre of the "hols 9" bar etc so that it is easy to see the difference between the two years

I have tried using the X - Y scatter to do the line and drag the points but I am told "Cannot changed linked data: category range contains nonnumberic data"

    Can anyone help?
