record the total possible attendance against actual Attendance

    Evening Gentlemen,

i have just finsihed putting together a datasheet recording attendance on different courses across each month and different types of Course etc.

i have then used a Pivot Table to group, and organise the data. it is working every well even though i say so myself.

my problem is this.....how can i (if at all) get the pivot table to display the actual attendance against the maximum attendance, preferably as a percentage. i have not recorded the Maximum attendance anywhere yet.

    Thanks in Advance

    BR

    Hi BR,

I saw MarvinP provide this link the other day which may help you.

If not, please provide a sample workbook illustrating what you have and what you desire.

the sheet shows the detail i have recorded.

as you can see HRM course has three attendees......the capacity for this class is 6

the mgt and training course both have two attendees and both have a capcaity of 4.

i know i don.t have any of the capacities recorded, this is because i'm not sure which way to do it.

i have considered creating a different sheet and building a formula to count each cousre and date and add the Capacity.

is there a way of adding a column to the Attendance sheet and recording a value to use in the Pivot....this would be the handiest.

at the end of the day....i am open to any suggestion

I couldn't quite figure this out through a pivot table, but I'll keep trying.

In the meantime, look at the attachment and see if this table in G1:J4 will help.
