    Question Excel Document Too Big

I maintain an an Excel 2007 document that only has 48 rows in it but the file size is almost 1.8MB ... way too big. I think the reason is that I copy and paste information from emails into a given cell on each row. Some of those emails probably have formatted text and the pasting action is copying in lots of formatting .. my guess. How do I make this document smaller in size? I've tried Copy/Paste_Values (whole document, given column, all cells in given column). Thank you.

    Hello,

hit Ctrl-End and see where the cursor ends up. If it's way below and to the right of the actual data, select and delete (not clear) all rows and columns below and to the right of the data, then save and close the file.

Re-open it, hit Ctrl-End again. The cursor should now be on the last populated cell and the file should be much smaller.

No, that's not the problem. I tried that. It's got something to do with the "junk" I'm copying/pasting into the document.
