    Capitalize everything

How do I make everything in capital letters? I know about the UPPER function, but that only makes a copy and capitalizes the copy. I want to capitalize everything on the page without having to make 2 copies of everything.

    Excel 2000.

    Garren1013,

You'd have to use a macro. To add a macro to a workbook:
    1. Save a copy of the Excel workbook you want to modify
      • Always test macros in a copy so that the original is preserved in case the modifications don't go smoothly
    2. Open the copy of the Excel workbook you want to modify
    3. Use the keyboard shortcut ALT+F11 to open the Visual Basic Editor
    4. Insert -> Module
    5. Copy/Paste the code into that area

To run a macro in a workbook:
    1. In Excel (not the Visual Basic Editor) press the keyboard shortcut ALT+F8
    2. Double-click the desired macro (I named this one CapitalizeMacro_for_Garren1013)

    Here's the macro code:

    Re: Capitalize everything

Thanks tigeravatar, that did work and capatlized everything, however now everytime I open up Excel, a prompt pops up asking if I want to enable or disable macros. How do I remove this prompt?

There are a few of ways to remove that prompt:
    • If you no longer need the macro to capitalize everything, you can simply delete the macro.
    • You could use an add-in as martindwilson suggested. The add-in he provided a link to does have the capability to capitalize everything in a selected range of cells, and even though an addin is a collection of VBA macros and/or functions, it does not trigger the macro warning prompt.
    • Or you can disable the macro enable/disable prompt: Tools | Macro | Security | select "Low" | OK

    Hope that helps,

    Re: Capitalize everything

Thanks for the help, I just set the macro priority to low and it went away.

Umm, not sure how to mark the post as answered.
