Finding duplicates and Counting

Hi all,

I would like to say advance for thanking you for taking your time to help.

I am facing a problem.

I have numerous single column data entries and I would like to do the following things

lets say in column A i have the data...

Data1,Data1,Data1,Data2,Data2,Data3,Data4,Data4,Data4. and basically I want a column format of ....

Data1 | 3
Data2 | 2
Data3 | 1
Data4 | 2

so overall the list is shortened and the next column counts how many it exists.

Thesoju welcome to the forum. This is a two step process.

First step is you have to perform a text to column function - to do that you have to go data - text to column - delimited - comma and then next and finish.

Once you do that you can use a countif function. Look at the attachment. Let me know is this works for you.
