    organizing lists by name

Probably a simple answer but I'm new to sorting functions in Excel....

trying to sort a database that is non-numeric

I have a database with three subjects:
    (example)
Name | Condo Name | Renewed

    AB First Condo Yes
    BC Second Condo No
    BC Bay Condo No
    YZ Awesome Condo Yes
    AB Ocean Condo Yes

I want to organize the condos by "Name" so each "Name" has an alphabetical list of "Condo Name"s that correspond to them.

I understand pivot tables do something similar but with numbers.
    Would something like "VLOOKUP" work?

    thanks!

    just sort
select all data/sort by name and in the second option condo name and it will come out like this

    name condo yn
    AB First Condo Yes
    AB Ocean Condo Yes
    BC Bay Condo No
    BC Second Condo No
    YZ Awesome Condo Yes

    Oh wow very easy, thanks!

Now maybe you can answer this question...

Let's say I already had a list alphabetically organized by Condo Name. On a different tab of the spreadsheet, is there a way to have it automatically list Condo Names under each "Name" ? I keep thinking about IF statements, but I'm not sure how I would make that work in excel or if there is already a function to do this capability.

    Thank you again!
