    Hide and show rows

    Hi,

I hope somebody can help me this small problem.

Is there a function or some kind of “drop down” menu options that makes it possible the show or hide certain types of rows?

In the example I would like to click on something inn the cell marked “drop down menu” that made the rows marked with X and yellow color disappear and then show again next time I click.

The quickest way to do this is with Autofilter. If you click on the cell labeled "Drop down menu" and then turn on Autofilter (I do not know what the menu sequence is for Mac 2011 but in 2007 it is Data, Filter). Then a dropdown menu is created. It gives a list with a checkbox for each data value in the column. You can uncheck the one for "X" and that will hide all the corresponding rows.

    See attached for example.

    Hi etunges,

You can achieve this in a variety of ways but I think some code will be involved in most of them. One way is by creating a custom view with the rows you want hidden. Then you can use a toggle button to hide or show them.

Attached is an example of this, naturally custom views aren't always ideal but from what you have I think it'll work fine.
