    Question Conditional Formatting Not Working

    Hi,

On my worksheet, Group or Individual Run Charts, I have a range of cells:C5:AD16 with data

Within this range, c7:ad7 are numbers representing Fiscal Weeks (FW)

In Cell C4, I have the current FW represented:

On other worksheets, this format worked well, but for whatever reasons, it's not working as intended on this worksheet.

I attached an example file. Please check out, Group or Individual Run Charts & tell me why the conditional formatting is not working. Or, more importantly, get the current FW columns highlighted.

    Thanks

    Re: Conditional Formatting Not Working

there is no cf on that sheet

    select
    $C$7:$AD$7
    an apply the cf of
    =c7=$c$4

    Re: Conditional Formatting Not Working

    Hi,

I forgot - I deleted the conditions after they weren't working.

Here's an example of what I have from another worksheet that the CF is working. This is off my, Calendar & Position Status worksheet:

    =OR($G4>$G$2) - No formatting
=OR($G4=$G$2) - Shade column light blue & have text dark blue
    >0 - No formatting

On my Group or Individual Run Charts worksheet, I used the same principle, except changing the cell references, but for whatever reasons, it's not working on this worksheet.

    How to get it work?

    Re: Conditional Formatting Not Working

    Hi martindwilson & Others,

Something is still not working. I have my range selected - C5:AD16, clicked on Conditional Formatting, went to, "Use a Formula to Determine Which Cells to Format & entered the formula above, except with different cell callouts - =$C$13=$C$10

Nothing is happening. Do I need additional CFs too? Regardless, my desired FW columns is not highlighting - In this example, FW 28 column should be highlighting, since this is FW 28.

    What's missing?

    Thanks

    Re: Conditional Formatting Not Working

    Hi Martindwilson & Others,

Martindwilson - This is a great link or website.

However, I'm still having issues, even after watching the videos.

    I have the following:

    * Selected range:=$C$11:$AD$22
    * Conditional Formatting Rule: =$C13=$C$10

The intent is to have row or cells: c13: ad13, look for the current Fiscal Week (FW) or number that matches the number in cell C10 & turn that column into light blue & dark blue text.

For whatever reasons, nothing is happening, regardless if I have the, "Stop If True" checked on or off.

On my Calendar & Position Status worksheet within the same file, I have a similar block area & this CF works just fine.

As of now, I can't see why the CF is not working in Group or Individual Run Charts worksheet.

Please check out example file given above & advise.

    Thanks

    Re: Conditional Formatting Not Working

    FYI:

Since my original example file submittal, I added a few rows, in case you are wondering why cell references don't match up between these forum discussions & the file. The issue is still the same though.

    Hi martindwilson,

What do you mean? When opening, there will be a message asking to open as "read only". Just click 'no". There's no password on it.

Question Re: Conditional Formatting Not Working

    Hmm?

    Are you using Excel 2007?

I re-uploaded the file. As mentioned, up above, I added some rows since my original submittal, so cell references in these discussions may not match up.

Other than that, the intent is still the same.

    Re: Conditional Formatting Not Working

    Hi Martindwilson,

You're awsome! I see that you removed the '$' symbol, which seems to be the difference from what I had.

In my other conditional functions, I had 'Or" functions & in those cell ranges, that worked well. Not sure why these didn't work in other worksheet. It doesn't matter now, since you gave me what I needed.

    Thanks again...
