    Earned Revenue calculation

I'm somewhat new to Excel and want to create a basic table for earned subscription revenue. If we sell a subscription to customer X on July 1 for $12,000, we'll recognize $6,000 in the current fiscal and $6,000 in the next. Honestly, I feel lost trying to come up with a formula for this. I've attached the table I started and any help to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

    Re: Earned Revenue calculation

I might be missing something significant but, at first glance, it looks like you just need the formula:

    =F2/2 in cells G2 and H2.

    What *am* I missing?

The data provided was an example - since start dates, end dates and amounts vary, we'll need to know what portion of any sale is applicable to each fiscal. I can figure out the manual calculation, but get lost trying to figure it out as a formula.

OK, so "The data provided was an example " ...

You need to provide a selection of examples with dates and values and showing where and how you expect the values to be split.

I'm guessing you'll need to indicate, somewhere, when the fiscal year starts so that the proportion of the year can be calculated.
