Conditional formatting - comparison of two columns

    Hey everyone,

I am looking for a way to 'compare' the values in two different columns, L and N, and hence highlight the cells in column N which are higher in value than corresponding ones in column L. Then I want to create a different rule which will do the same with cells in column L as opposed to N.

The test formula will for instance be IF(L13>=N13) - cell numbers are for example purposes. I of course can use such a formula to create a conditional rule to compare two cells, but have no idea how to do it with two full columns - so as not to have thousands of rules dictating the relationship.

Hi, the condition should work fine just as you entered it. Just make sure there is no $-sign in front of the row reference in the addresses. All you have to do is either select the row you want to apply the formatting to before you enter the conditional formatting, or apply the conditional formatting rule to one cell and then copy and paste special the format of this cell to the entire column.
