Phone number formatting from 8 digits to 10 with spaces

Hi All,

I've got a column of 8 digit phone numbers I need help formatting. I need to add the following to the start of the number. (02)space and then a space after the 4th digit.

Eg. 12345678 to change to (02) 1234 5678

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Ray. You could create a custom format. "(02) #### ####"
To create a custom format right click a cell and choose format. Then select Custom. In the Type box just input the text above without the quotes and click OK. You should be able to use that format from then on.

Be aware that custom format does not change the underlying value, so if you need your data beginning with (02) for further analysis, you will have to use other methods
