Worksheet Column Display...all numbers & no letters

Does anyone know how to correct a worksheet display? I opened a file and the worksheet display numbers for the columns instead of letters. All of the rows are numbered as well, so any formulas created do not work.

    Hi,

To turn R1C1 reference style on or off
Click Options on the Tools menu, and then click the General tab.

Under Settings, select or clear the R1C1 reference style check box.

    Cheers,

Tools|Options|General|remove the tick from the "R1C1 reference style" check box under the "Settings" heading.
