Manipulation this Dashboard Template-tick marks on graphs

    Hi everyone,

I just went through the entire tutorial for building this dashboard template, and now I want to use certain parts of it for other things.

The two parts I coudln't figure out was:

    1) The bottom right graphs had tick marks that marked from bottom to top. If I'm just making a normal graph like that, how do I add tick marks that will look the same? (I.e. Tick marks marking the months jan-december)

    2) How did he add the red and green circles to indicate percentiles? I was wondering how I can add this/change the color for other purposes, and how the percentile can be changed so that the lower 10% would be green and top 10% would be red.

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi MellowFellow

    2) How did he add the red and green circles to indicate percentiles? I was wondering how I can add this/change the color for other purposes, and how the percentile can be changed so that the lower 10% would be green and top 10% would be red.
This is simple conditional formating. If you look at any of the cells that contain the red or green circles (for example J10:J19) they have conditional formating applied. You can see the conditional formatting rule that has been set up by selecting one of these cells and clicking the conditional formating button from the Excel Ribbon (HOME > STYLES > CONDITIONAL FORMATING). Now, if you look at the formulas in these cells you can see that they are taking either a "0" or "2" value from the "calculations" tab (for example cell J10 is taking a value from "calculations!U6". Take a look at the "calculations" tab. You'll see the range S6:W15 is basically a representation in "0"s and "2"s of the green and red circles back on the previous tab. Cells S6:W15 are configured to give a "0" if the value is in the lower 10% and a "2" if the value is in the upper 10%. Hope this makes sense - shame I can't upload a few screen shots. Track me down if you need more clarifications.

Not sure what you mean here, I couldn't see any months, sorry - more clarification???

    Hope this helps
