    Advanced Dropdown List

    Hi everybody,

I hope some excel wizard is able to help me with this small task for my training program.

What I’m trying to make is a list with 3 or more options (Example: Sum, Pass 1 and Pass 2 and so on) Sum is the total workout of the two or more passes. Each pass (could be running) would contain the cells distance, kcal, zone, time, min/km and intensity where only distance and time should be fill out and intensity, which also is a list, a predefined values chosen. The rest of the cells will automatically be filled out duo to the other cells.

The means that Sum is empty in the beginning, but when pass 1 is filled out, Sum is equal to pass 1. When pass 2 is filled out, Sum is equal to pass 1 and 2 put together.

When Pass 1 or any other pass from the list is chosen, the cells are empty with the default numbers.

See screenshot with the current setup (WIP)

    Hope it make sans.

    Regards

    Hello,

that screenshot is unreadable. Please upload an Excel file with some dummy data and explain in context. Mock up the expected results with just a few sample cells. No need to post your original file, as long as you can explain what you want in principle.

    cheers,

    Re: Advanced Dropdown List

    Hello,

    in your spreadsheet it reads

From the row "Pass" (D4) one should be able to choose Pass 1 or Pass 10 (if 10 is needed) from a list and fill the empty cells.
D4 is a cell, not a row. So where is a dropdown? And who or what determines "if 10 is needed" ?? From which list? Fill which cells? None are empty. Some are 0. Are these considered empty?

Where is the data input? Where is the data output? What is the logic that leads to the output?

You need to step back a bit and either explain more about the bigger picture or ask a detailed question about one individual task.
