Pivot Table - GrandTotal at Start

    Hi,
I have a pivot table which tells me the total of something. It gives the the Grand Total of the Total. But it places it at the end. Is there anyway i can have this Grant Total Column at the beginning of my pivot table (after the row fields)??

    Cheers

    I'm afraid not, no.

I guess you could create a Calculated Field that sums per Column fields, move that calculated item to the left and hide the Grand Total for Rows (as this will be double counting), is that viable ?

See attached for ex. of my thinking.

Yeah i guess that could work.

Just a question how did you add hide the Row Grand Total Column?

Also, how did you add the Grand Total Text + Column?

You can hide the Grand Total by either right-clicking on it (when visible) and Hide or via PT Options

I inserted a Calculated Field, named " Grand Total" (space is important given it's a keyword in the PT without it) ... and set to = Column + Column + Column etc...

I set the example up in XL2007 but in my 2002 version you would active a Column Header (not double click) --> then via the PT Toolbar -> Formulas -> Calculated Item then

    Name: " Grand Total"
Formula = each item + each item...
Once complete click Add, then move the Item on the PT itself to the left hand side.

Laborious I'm afraid but it does work (I think)

What will be the formula if column headings are having space like "DAFFY BIG" or "MICKEY GOLDEN"?

See the attached link for instructions.

I've included a sample workbook showing the final output.
