Leave #N/A blank until a calculation appears

I am using the following formula in Column Y, Row 6: =IF(O3>0,W3/2,W3). Before I enter anything into the preceding cells that Y:6 will calculate on, Y:6 automatically shows #N/A. Is there a way I can have Y:6 stay blank until I enter numbers in the cells that it will be calculating on. Hope this makes sense and Thanks in advance for your help.

What causes the NA? Once you know that you can add a test to the start of your formula to check for that. Maybe:

    =IF(AND(O3>0, W3<>""),W3/2,W3)

This may not be what you are looking for, but you could try conditional formatting:

Set a new rule with a formula, =iserror(cell)
Then set the cell's font color = white and the fill = white.
This does not empty out the cell but it does visibly hide the fact that there is no value for that cell.

The NA is caused by a formula in that cell that's waiting on me to enter data in the preceding cells it references so it can calculate. Once I enter numbers into the preceeding cells Y:7 instantly populates based on the formula I have in it.

I meant to say Y:6 in my last post.

Did you understand the suggestion? Change the part in red to test the source cell that is causing the error.
