When I click the excel file today, it only open the excel program and I need to click file>open>name of the file in my computer. I check location of the file and it is ok, I check the property of this file and it look alright. The short cut is ok, there is open with excel command and so on. My ms word is ok. it can open the file when I click it, only the excel with such problem.
Any body know what is the problem?

Was the workbook you're trying to open last saved as a Hidden Workbook? If it was saved as a hidden workbook you should be able to click Windows/Unhide and select it from the list. I'm kind of skeptical that is the issue, but it could be...

Thks for your prompt reply but I think it is not the problem as I can't open all the excel files. The last time I use the ms office is still alright, only today I can't open the file by double click, it only open excel program and I need to click file>open> file name.
any one with the same problem ?
Perhaps Tools > Options > General, untick Ignore other applications
