    vlookup (matching issue)

    Hello

I have close to 800 store # that were provided to me, and they dont match. there is either spacing or the way they are wrrtten out is causing issues.

due to time constraints, i cant manually update all 800 records for the vlookup, so is there anyother way out? pls i hope that is :S

Basically I need to get the phone #s for the store #s but my master worksheet store # is not matching. can someone pls help!

    any advise?

put 0 in a spare cell copy then select data in column b master! paste-special add
repeat with column a of allstores!

    Re: vlookup (matching issue)

now do the same to col a on the other sheet
the reason is you have a mixture of "real" numbers and "text" numbers in col b of master and "text" numbers in col a of the other sheet
adding zero will make both columns "real" numbers and vlookup will work
