    VLookUps vs Match

    Hello!

I know this must be incredibly simple but I've been working on this for hours.

I have a list of occasionally repeating strings in a column. I want to add strings from a second sheet that has corresponding information.

    AKA

I have a list of websites that sometimes repeat. (Sheet 2)

I also have a list of websites and their associated categories. (Sheet 1)

I want to get the categories from Sheet 1 to match up with my Sheet 2.

    How do I do this?

Thanks so much ahead of time,

    H.

Also why is col_index_num requiring the number of the column? Why not the letter, which is how columns are named? Does it require counting across to determine what position letter J holds?

Merci for the link, but I got it down myself right before. Silly syntax mistakes and I didn't lock the array.

    Mille grazie though!
