    What if Analyzes in Excel

    Hi
We are having an home exam about PowerPivot, databases and excel. We have got a database from an insurance company, and we are trying to figure out what will happen to the average of the damages (the company sells car-insurances) when the average of horsepowers increase by 5% - also another scenario with -5%. This is because we can clearly see a connection between the number of damages and how fast ppl drive.

Our problem though is that we can't seem to figure out how to use the scenario manager in Excel "What if analyze". Could anybody help us please?

    Hi
Here I do have an example worksheet. Don't know if it gives you enough information. In the first table you can see the original data that we got from the database (number of damages, average of damages and average of horsepowers), and a different column for each year (2000-2005). Our problem will be to find out what will happen to the average of damages IF the average of horsepowers increase by 5% or decrease by 5%

    Oppgave 4a)

    Scenario 1 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 Økning
    Number of damages 10991 10902 10679 11377 11852 12146 1155
    Average of damages 0,028 0,028 0,027 0,027 0,026 0,026 -0,0016
    Number of Horsepowers 31996053 34274441 37734259 43042056 47521936 50807396 18811343
    Average of horsepowers 80 88 95 101 105 109 29

Can you post the actual sample data with the formula you are using at present. Use the "Go Advanced button at the bottom of the Quick Reply box then manage attachments.

Just finding it difficult from just looking at your post.

    Cheers
