sum products skipping blanks

looking for a shorter formula.....I have 2 columns and am looking to get the sum of the column A * column B but skip the blanks

A B
5 1%
6 6%
7
8
9 10%

long forumla = A1*B1+ A2*B2 + A5*B5 = 36.95

=SUMPRODUCT(A1:A5*B1:B5)

Don't know how you got your answer though.
Should be 1.31

thanks... thats actually the first formula I tried and 30 min into trying random ugly formulas and pulling my hair out because this i couldn't figure out this apparently easy formula i realized i actually had the wrong column selected which is why i wasn't getting my answer lol ... pretty newbish
