Lightbulb Finding values based on the standard curve - Pls help

    I have plotted a standard curve with x n y values.

Now I have another few y values and I am required to get the value of x value corresponding to each y value. How to plot the graph showing that I have found the values of x with the reference of my graph. I know how to do it on graph paper but I don't know how to set the equation or any settings to draw that in Excel 2010.

It is like drawing a dotted line from the y value at the y axis until it touches the graph. From that point draw another dotted line to the x axis. The value of x in x axis is the value corresponding to y value. Is there any way to draw that in Excel 2010?

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks

Add another series with three points:

    0, y
    x, y
    x, 0
Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate

What I understand with your reply is get 3 points and draw another line on the graph. Am I right?

But, what I meant was how to do draw a dotted line extending from a given x value from x axis to the line in the graph which is the turning point to another dotted line to y axis(not given). How to draw it in Excel 2010?

    Thanks
